The Eleonore Austerer Gallery opened its desert location in 2001 to com-plement the well established San Francisco gallery near Union Square, which Eleonore owned and operated from 1988 through 2002. The new gallery has enjoyed several years of success on El Paseo in Palm Desert, the area's most exclusive art and shopping destination..
We are proud to announce that the gallery, now called Eleonore Austerer Fine Art is now in its 22nd year of operation. The large gallery closed in 2008, and we now welcome clients at our new smaller show space just off El Paseo. We recently expanded to offer exhibition space for both Modern Masters and Contemporary Artists.
Sadly, Eleonore passed away in August 2009 after a long illness. Originally from Vienna, Austria, she had more than thirty five years of experience in the fine art business, including twenty years in San Francisco. Her husband, Mark Williams, together with David Einstein and Dana Johnson, will continue Eleonore's dream.
The gallery specializes in rare originals and limited edition graphic work by major 20th Century Masters, which range from the simple line drawings of Matisse and Picasso to the early surrealism of Miró, the bold primary color geometry of Calder and iconic imagery of Tamayo.
The gallery's contemporary collection consists of paintings and sculpture in various media by several established and mid-career European, American and Latin American artists, ranging from hyper-realism to abstraction.
