Mr. Einstein holds a M.F.A. in painting from Wayne State University, Michigan. His work is represented in the collections of the Archives of American Art in Washington, D.C. and the Cranbrook Museum of Art, along with many other corporate, private and public collections. His art work is included in a book entitled Fixing the World: Jewish American Painters in the 20th Century. For more than a decade David Einstein has been a highly respected art professor at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert.

A painter of landscapes, David Einstein prefers to work in an abstract vein that gives him the freedom to render nature subjectively. David’s work is a constant exploration of the abstract laws of color, as in the canvas “Red Veil” shown above. Along with his paintings, David explores ink and brushwork on handmade paper and ceramic surfaces. Currently he is working on the “Aleph Series” based on the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
